Family history research looks easy on those television shows:  just get on the Internet and read the right books and records.  But the Internet is filled with bogus information, books filled with wrong information, and records not easily found.  It takes a professional genealogist to properly research your ancestry.  Objectives need to be set, problems analyzed, record locations determined, research done, and findings evaluated.  Ancestry West was founded by Mara Fein, PhD, Certified Genealogist (SM). 

Perhaps you want an entire family history done so you can pass it on to your children.  Perhaps you only have interest in one branch of your family history,  Or perhaps you already have done some research and you just need a difficult problem solved.  Ancestry West willl work with you to set the parameters for success.

Many of our ancestors entered this country on the Atlantic coast but worked their way across the continent.  Some migrated to the Northwest Territory, which later became what we know today as the Midwest.  Others travelled further, claiming land in Missouri and Kansas.  Still others went all the way to the Pacific Coast, settling in California.  No matter where they ended up, taking the journey back with them is an amazing experience.
